Bariatric Continuing Medical Education (CME)

Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs are designed to equip physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants with the latest knowledge and techniques about the treatment and management of overweight and obese patients and their related conditions.

Accreditation

The ASBP is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide CME for physicians. All CME is AMA (American Medical Association) PRA Category 1 Credit™. For live conferences, the ASBP also provides Prescribed credits from the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and hours of AOA (American Osteopathic Association) Category 2-A.

The American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME.

For other non-physician learners, many allied health professional organizations will recognize equivalent credit upon presentation of documentation ASBP will provide to learners upon completion of the program(s).
