James Bland, MD, JD - Chairman of the Board
Dr. James Bland is Board certified in both Bariatric and Family Medicine, and maintains a private practice in Aiken, South Carolina. He speaks regularly at ASBP conferences on legal issues as they relate to Bariatric practice.
In 2009 Dr. Bland was awarded the Dr. Vernon B. Astler Award for advancing ASBP's purpose to the media, government and medical community.
He received his MD degree from Medical College of Georgia, Augusta and his JD degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law, Columbia.
